    Job Summary

    Peer mentors have a general responsibility for serving as a supporter, assisting first-year or returning students in their personal adjustment to the college and working closely with staff in producing social media content.

    Peer mentors must uphold CLC values of excellence, integrity, unity, purpose, compassion, and inclusion.

    1) Provide a welcoming environment to students in the TRIO program, CLC students, CLC employees, and community members that may ask about the TRIO-SSS program
    2) Assist students with questions about TRIO-SSS and CLC
    3) Knowledgeable about using a planner, time management techniques, and utilizing CLC resources
    4) Join the program team in class visits to talk about the TRIO-SSS program
    5) Assisting in reminding students about key dates and information
    6) Reasonably flexible with their schedules to work with mentees
    7) Record content for social media
    8) Respectful of student information and confidentiality
    9) Assist with office support as needed

    Required Qualification(s) -Must be an active TRIO-SSS student with a minimum GPA of 2.5

    • Must be a CLC student enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits during the Fall 2024 term

    00 Location Grayslake Total Hours per week up to 15 hours a week Work Schedule Flexible and based on the needs of peer mentees. Office hours dependent on class schedule. Total hours not to exceed 15 hours per week. Position runs through the end of the academic year.
