    Staff Accountant
    Downtown St. Petersburg, FL
    Hybrid Role: 1 day in office/4 days at home

    Exciting Opportunity for a Staff Accountant at Our Client's Sports Organization

    Are you a meticulous accounting professional eager to advance in your career? We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in financial operations, handling tasks such as account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting audit preparations.

    Key Responsibilities for the Staff Accountant:

    • Execute monthly accounting close activities promptly, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
    • Contribute to enhancing process workflows for improved efficiency.
    • Assist in customer invoicing, credit, and collections to ensure timely payments.
    • Participate in the weekly vendor payment process and aid in annual 1099/1042 preparation.
    • Support the annual audit process by preparing audit schedules and working with auditors as required.
    • Perform other accounting duties as assigned to meet the organization's needs.

    Qualifications for the Staff Accountant:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
    • At least 2 years of accounting experience with GAAP knowledge.
    • Experience with various foreign currencies is considered advantageous.

    Skills and Competencies Required:

    • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
    • Preference for advanced Excel and database management abilities.
    • Attention to detail is essential for accurate financial reporting.
    • Self-motivated individual capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
