Design Engineer - Massachusetts, United States - Verrus

Description

Candidate should have a solid background in geotechnical engineering and/ or geotechnical consulting. Candidate must have a bachelor's degree in civil/ geotechnical engineering. A master's degree and a P.E. are preferred, but not required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with the Chief Engineer in evaluating, performing detailed analysis, and designing solutions for ground improvement, foundation/slab support, and earth retention projects. Geopier Rammed Aggregate Pier Elements, Micro piles, tie-backs, grouting, and earth retention design/analysis experience a plus.
• Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision in performing all phases of design/analysis (currently or after training). Candidate would be required to mutli-task by working on several projects in various stages of development.
• Assist in writing and preparing written reports and submittals that are presented to the client.
• Coordinating with project engineers to provide time-sensitive technical solutions to ongoing construction projects.
• Take initiative for career advancement through advanced academic studies, technical seminar attendance, and implementation of computer software for design/analysis.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CAPABILITIES

• Bachelors' degree in civil/geotechnical engineering with some structural engineering coursework. Masters degree and Professional License is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in related fields.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Proven track record in meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities, including exceptional follow-through.
