    Job Summary:


    The Director of Repairs Operations is responsible for managing all facets within the repair operations department in Plano TX and global contractors performing the same work.

    Responsibilities include ensuring effective operation by working with the managers and supervisors to complete customer priorities based on demand schedules, assigning tasks/projects as needed, coordinating/overseeing the completion of work, monitoring key performance metrics (KPI), managing labor efficiency across the area of responsibility.

    The position will be responsible for improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost through Lean manufacturing principles, leadership and building a high-performance team, while maintaining regulatory compliance.

    The Director of Repair Operations will work closely with Engineering, Product Development, Marketing, Supply Chain and RA/QA functions to insure a smooth transition of a product thru its lifecycle while meeting budget and performance objectives.

    Responsibilities (Specific tasks, duties, essential functions of the job)

    Implement lean conversion to drive out waste in direct labor productivity, quality, inventory, transactional/Oracle simplification, lead-time reduction.


    Must possess the ability to multitask, pay attention to details, have a good understanding of quality, inventory and warehousing processes in a manufacturing environment.


    Ensure standardization among facilities for inventory receipt, transactions, storage and handling to promote best practices by eliminating wasteful procedures and advancing efficient, high quality operations.


    Establish and maintain effective communication among all facilities that handle inventory and repair product to maintain situational awareness of each unit's challenges and accomplishments.


    Assure the company has effective and efficient procedures in place that can manage raw materials and repair and replace components and packaging into finished product on schedule and at established margin targets.

    Effectively model capacity/capital needs and build a long-range capacity plan, including facility/site needs.

    Focus on exceptional customer service by improving product quality, OTD and warranty repair costs.

    Lead cross-functional teams to problems solve and drive to root cause.


    Establish an effective and efficient departmental organization structure; manage staff to promote team building, capability and skill development, succession planning, as well as employee satisfaction.


    Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes in the areas of material planning, inventory stocking strategy, repair and raw material ordering and forecasting.

    Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

    Comply with all company policies and procedures.

    Assist with any other duties as assigned.

    Ability to travel up to 15% (domestic and international)

    Qualifications (Experience and Education)

    Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline, required.

    MBA or advanced degree in management or professional certification in manufacturing disciplines, preferred.

    12-15 years experience in manufacturing, engineering and/or supply chain management, required.

    Medical Device experience required (FDA & ISO 13485)

    6 years management experience, with a minimum of five direct reports, required.


    10-15 years experience in lean manufacturing implementation, integrated product and process development; supply chain management; program management; JIT/six-sigma or similar manufacturing methodologies, required.

    Kaizen facilitator, preferred.

    Advanced knowledge/proficiency in Microsoft Office, required.


    A combination of training, education and experience that is equivalent to the qualifications listed above and that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
