A new, full-service icehouse is opening soon in the vibrant Pearl District, nestled beneath Texas' signature live oaks alongside the San Antonio River. Otto's Ice House, brought to you by an iconic Texas hospitality company, will offer friendly service, classic Southern bites with a Texas twist, and live music on the outdoor patio. As a Host:

You understand the importance of being the first impression of our restaurant as Guests call or enter our restaurant. You are friendly and tend to Guests' requests with patience. You work quickly and balance many tasks like managing seating charts/systems, relaying pertinent information to staff, and coordinating the activities of the dining room staff to ensure fast and courteous service to our guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Welcome guests as they arrive and ensure they feel comfortable and valued.
Acknowledge guest's right-of-way and actively assist guests with directions or special requests
Open doors for guests entering or leaving the restaurant
Maintain clean entryway and assist with table turn-over when needed
Provide guests with accurate estimated waiting time
Notify servers/managers of any special events the guests are celebrating upon being seated
Escort guests to their tables and once seated, offer guests a menu and inform them of their server's name
Assist Guests with merchandise where applicable
Communicate with Servers, Bartenders & Management to maintain maximum efficiency of the restaurant
Maintain a consistent system for wait lists and monitor table turnover
Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and all company policies

Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age
Must have a Food Handlers certification before employment begins
Must display exceptional customer service and communication skills
POS (cash register) and credit or debit card processing skills
Excellent verbal communication skills
Punctual and reliable attendance is required
Must be well-groomed and professionally dressed following uniform standards
Must have attention for detail, and a passion for serving Guests
Positive and professional attitude in every aspect of the position
Physical requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods of time; capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.; ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions during shifts.
