Description

The Analyst prepares and analyzes cannabis and cannabis-derived product samples for instrumental analysis using techniques in compliance with established laboratory Quality Assurance programs and Standard Operating Procedures.

Shift

Fulltime position, 35 – 40 hours/week
Must be available to work overtime and occasional weekends as necessary
Requirements

B.S. Chemistry / Biology or related science field
Organized and able to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Capable of adjusting to rapidly changing priorities
Desire to learn and increase level of responsibility
Proficient in data entry and review
Responsibilities

Receive and log samples and other lab supplies into the Laboratory Information Management System
Organize the daily sample processing queue
Grind / homogenize samples and distribute material as necessary for requested services
Label and store samples
Perform extractions, filtrations, and any other required sample preparation steps, including quality control samples
Perform various microbiological and chemical analyses including both manual and instrumental techniques
Quickly escalate sample or quality controls issues to the Lab Manager
Prepare and label chemical solutions
Properly dispose of laboratory waste and excess sample material
Perform routine maintenance of equipment
Maintain the cleanliness of the work areas
Other duties as assigned
