Job summary
We are seeking an experienced professional book indexer to create a high-quality publication-ready back-of-book index for a nonfiction manuscript.Create a comprehensive back-of-book index for a nonfiction manuscript independently identify and organize relevant index entries and subentries ensure logical structure clarity and usability for readers deliver a clean finalized index aligned with the approved interior layout what we re looking for demonstrated experience indexing nonfiction books strong judgment and subject-matter intuition you understand what should be indexed not just what appears repeatedly ability to work independently with minimal guidance familiarity with professional indexing conventions and best practices clear communication dependable turnaround project details manuscript will be provided upon selection timeline compensation to be discussed with shortlisted candidates
