    Description

    As an Estimator at Palmetto Corp of Conway, you will play a crucial role in preparing accurate and competitive bids for asphalt and sitework projects.

    The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in estimating within the construction industry, possess proficiency in software tools such as Bid to Win, AGTEK, and Excel, and have a solid understanding of SCDOT specifications.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Analyze project plans, specifications, and site conditions to determine the scope of work.
    Prepare detailed cost estimates for asphalt and sitework projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
    Collaborate with the project management and operations teams to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
    Review bid documents and contracts to identify potential discrepancies or issues.
    Evaluate project risks and opportunities to develop competitive pricing strategies.
    Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and regulations to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
    Solicit and analyze supplier and subcontractor proposals.
    Prepare and submit completed bids in a timely manner.
    Ensure that all estimates adhere to company policies and industry standards.
    Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as necessary.
    Perform additional tasks and assignments as necessary to meet deadlines or at management's discretion.
