    Job Summary

    The SEBT Communications Specialist will support the Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (SEBT) program. In this role, you will coordinate with the Minnesota Department of Education and internal DHS communications personnel about ways to disseminate messaging about SEBT program requirements and eligibility to the general public so participants have timely information to address and resolve barriers that may restrict access to these benefits.

    Responsibilities include:
    • Providing interdepartmental leadership and planning support to coordinate and implement timely, accurate and effective communication for DHS to serve as the public face for Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (SEBT) information.
    • Working with Program manager, program supervisor, additional SEBT staff and SEBT Call Center reps to identify and update SEBT communication tools and processes as needed.
    • Working with internal and external partners to schedule/facilitate meetings as needed for SEBT program updates and to create new processes as needed.
    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.

    Two (2) years of professional experience in communications disseminating complex information and writing diverse communications for a variety of audiences. Experience must clearly demonstrate:
    • Expertise in organizing and maintaining content.
    • Experience in understanding of different approaches for writing for print, webpage, texting and social media.
    • Expertise in planning, developing, and implementing effective communication strategies.
    • Experience identifying gaps and opportunities in communication and plans to respond with solutions.
    • Knowledge of applying plain language and digital accessibility tools to make content accessible.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Social services experience.
    • Knowledge of or experience with public assistance programs.
    • Lived Experience with Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT).
    • Current recipients of MFIP/SNAP/Tribal TANF
    • Bi-lingual in English and another language such as Spanish/Hmong/Karen/Somali/Arabic
    • Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
