    Description

    Operations Manager at Food Distribution Center

    Job Title: Operations Manager

    Reports to: DC Manager

    Job Purpose: To provide senior managerial and operational support by overseeing day-to-day activities of the distribution center.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Manages and coordinates all operational activities of the distribution center.
    • Assigns tasks to managers, supervisors, and warehouse associates.
    • Oversees warehouse schedules for proper staffing levels.
    • Establishes operational procedures for shipments, product handling, and inventory.
    • Coordinates with transportation company for timely deliveries.
    • Manages system control processes and employee safety.
    • Assists in merchandise reclamation and donation reporting.
    • Ensures compliance with warehouse regulations.
    • Implements department standards and HR guidelines.
    • Manages performance reviews and customer service functions.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Strong communication and self-initiative abilities.
    • Proficiency in computer systems and WMS.
    • Excellent English language skills.
    • Effective vendor communication and follow-up.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • College degree with 8 to 10 years in warehouse management.
    • Knowledge of ammonia systems.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
    • Ability to stand or sit for long periods.
    • Ability to move around warehouse environment.
    • Ability to work in varying temperatures.
