    POSITION SUMMARY
    Responsible for the management of all aspects of a quarry operation.

    Lead and manage all safety efforts at the plant as well as site planning, pit development, quality control and maintenance function.

    Additional responsibilities include asset protection, financial evaluation, budgeting and cost control, environmental, personnel and community relations duties. Ensure compliance with company mandated safety and environmental policies, programs and guidelines as well as regulatory compliance. Lead management team and group of employees and provide strong leadership, training, team building and supervision.

    REQUIREMENTS
    Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (preferably Mining or Civil) or equivalent experience
    Minimum of five years of plantmanagement experience, preferably in the mining industry managing in a union environment
    Working knowledge and understanding of MSHA regulations and possess a strong personalcommitment to safety
    Solid understanding of aggregate processing and equipment
    Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and capable of developing and maintaining good relationships with company and regulatory agency personnel
    Strong leadership skills; possess the ability to lead, manage and motivate; have a proven track record for creating employee ownership of safety, production and quality
    Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; strong planning skills
    Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (preferably Mining or Civil) or equivalent experience
    Minimum of five years of plantmanagement experience, preferably in the mining industry
    Experience managing an aggregate rail facility preferred
    Must maintain a valid driver's license
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
    Working knowledge and understanding of MSHA regulations and possess a strong personalcommitment to safety believing all incidents are preventable
    Solid understanding of aggregate processing and equipment
    Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and capable of developing and maintaining good relationships with company and regulatory agency personnel
    Strong leadership skills; possess the ability to lead, manage and motivate; have a proven track record for creating employee ownership of safety, production and quality
    Demonstrated success in managing a large group of employees
    High standard of ethics, integrity, and trust; good judgment
    Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks; strong planning skills
    Ability to work extended hours, weekend and nights, where necessary
    Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
    PHYSICAL
    REQUIREMENTS
    Manual dexterity and visual ability to operate P.C.
    Ability to walk over uneven terrain of outside plant locations
    Ability to climb ladders and steps up to approximately 50 feet high
    Able to work at heights up to approximately 50 feet on platforms and cat walks
    Able to lift projection equipment and other objects of approximately 45 pounds and carry for distances up to approximately 50 feet
    Stoop, bend, and squat in order to perform safety inspection functions and utilize files
    POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
    This is a salaried, full-time regular position. May require long hours and occasional weekend work.

    TRAVEL
    Occasional travel will be required, primarily within the assigned District. Occasional out-of-area and overnight travel will be expected for training and development.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Majority of time will be outside and may require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry and dusty.

    Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs.
