- Managing Engineering Operations and Budgets
- Works with property and regional engineering leadership team to assess Engineering performance and address any concerns to leadership.
- Manages the physical plant including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical systems following Standard Operating Procedures.
- Administers service contracts for property support.
- Ensures fire crew is well-equipped and trained.
- Develops an engineering operating strategy aligned with the property/brand's business strategy.
- Manages and controls heat, light, and power.
- Oversees long-term preventative maintenance and asset protection plans.
- Supervises construction projects to ensure timely completion within budget.
- Ensures compliance with state, local, and federal regulations.
- Maintains property life safety systems such as firefighting equipment, sprinkler systems, and alarm systems.
- Keeps building and equipment licenses, permits, and certifications up to date.
- Administers property policies consistently.
- Manages operational areas to budget through careful review of financial reports.
- Monitors and supervises the payroll function.
- Manages controllable expenses to meet or exceed budgeted goals.
- Participates in setting department capital expenditure goals and budgeting processes.
- Reviews and manages controllable expenses to optimize financial goals.
- Conducts Human Resources Activities
- Ensures fair and equitable treatment of employees.
- Utilizes feedback and open communication to address employee concerns promptly.
- Recognizes and celebrates team contributions.
- Resolves guest issues and escalates as needed.
- High school diploma or GED; 6 years experience in engineering and maintenance or related area; technical training in HVAC-R/Electrical/Plumbing.
- OR
- 2-year degree in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major; 4 years experience in engineering and maintenance; technical training in HVAC-R/Electrical/Plumbing.
