About the Role

The Boys & Girls Club of Waynesboro, Staunton, and Augusta County is seeking a Director of Club Services to lead daily operations across Club sites and help ensure every child has a safe place to belong and grow.

This is a role for someone who leads with initiative, communicates honestly, respects the work that came before them, and knows how to strengthen systems and people over time.

This is a senior leadership role for a systems-minded, people-centered leader who understands how staff, programs, schedules, and culture work together. The Director of Club Services serves as the primary operational leader for Club sites, overseeing site leadership, strengthening program quality, and ensuring calm, consistent, trauma-informed environments for youth and families.

You will work closely with the CEO and leadership team as a trusted thought partner who translates organizational mission and strategy into daily practice, while having the authority and responsibility to run Club operations with confidence, accuracy, and care. What You'll Do

• Lead day-to-day operations across current Club sites and support the launch and integration of future sites and programs.
• Directly supervise, coach, and support site leadership roles (site coordinators and directors).
• Ensure smooth scheduling, operational flow, and consistent program delivery.
• Maintain safe, structured, trauma-informed environments for youth and staff.
• Step in to support site operations, site leadership, or direct youth programming when staffing gaps or high-demand situations arise.
• Model high-quality youth engagement and supervision when present at sites.
• Support site leadership in managing parent communication and resolve escalated concerns.
• Oversee attendance tracking, membership fee collection, documentation, and operational reporting.
• Support budget awareness, cost control, and responsible purchasing practices.
• Ensure stable routines and high-quality experiences across staffing changes, session transitions, and youth transitions.
• Maintain clear internal communication by sharing accurate, grounded updates on site conditions, challenges, and progress, along with context and proposed solutions.
• Serve on assigned committees and partner with the leadership team to strengthen organizational effectiveness and community trust.

What We're Looking For

• Three to five years of experience in youth development, program leadership, or a related human services field.
• Demonstrated experience supervising staff, coordinating schedules, daily operations, and/or program flow.
• Strong working knowledge of trauma-informed practices and the ability to apply them consistently.
• Proven ability to lead people with clarity, accountability, and care.
• Proficiency with computer systems, cloud-based platforms, CRMs, and operational tools. These systems are core to how we function.
• Strong follow-through, sound judgment, and systems thinking.
• Ability to operate confidently within organizational direction while bringing initiative, ideas, and solutions.
• Reliable transportation and ability to meet all background and compliance requirements.

Schedule and Location

• Full-time role, approximately 40 hours per week.
• Typical school-year schedule is Monday through Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Hours may vary during summer programming and out-of-school days or weeks.
• Primary office location is the Waynesboro Club, which also serves as the administrative office, with regular presence expected at all Club sites.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting salary up to $50,000. Paid hourly during the 90-day probationary period.
• Transitions to salaried, exempt status with benefits upon successful probationary period completion.
• Compensation growth reflects the effectiveness of this role in strengthening operations, impact, and organizational capacity.
• Complimentary Club membership for eligible household youth and no-cost facility rentals.
• All or portions of this position may be grant-funded. Continued employment may be contingent upon maintaining funding eligibility and performance aligned with organizational and grant requirements.
