    We seek a dynamic and collaborative clinical faculty member at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor to serve as a Pulmonary and Critical Care Physician, a highly skilled and specialized medical professional responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic pulmonary diseases and conditions in the critical care setting.

    This position involves providing exemplary patient care, engaging in cutting-edge research, and participating in teaching and mentorship activities within an academic medical center setting.

    The primary work site for this position is the University's affiliate hospital, Broward Health North.
    The Pulmonary and Critical Care Physician- Assistant/Associate/Full Professor will have the following specific responsibilities:
    ~ Provide expert consultation, evaluation, and management of patients with complex pulmonary conditions in the critical care setting. This specific position's clinical work is a combination of inpatient pulmonary / critical care and outpatient pulmonary.
    ~ Manage mechanical ventilation, non-invasive ventilation, and other advanced respiratory support modalities for critically ill patients.
    ~ Diagnostic Testing:

    Utilize a variety of diagnostic tools, such as chest X-rays, CT scans, EBUS, bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, arterial blood gas analysis to assess pulmonary function and diagnose pulmonary diseases accurately.

    ~ Refer patients for specialized interventions or surgeries as necessary.

    Collaboration and Consultation:
    Collaborate with intensivists, other specialists, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care


    Teaching and Mentorship:
    Contribute to the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows. Facilitate didactic lectures, case discussions, and clinical training experiences. Supervise and evaluate trainees' performance.
    ~ Quality Improvement:
    Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care, safety, and outcomes. Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines, protocols, and evidence-based practices.
    ~ Professional Development:

    Stay abreast of the latest advancements, guidelines, and research in pulmonology and critical care through continuous professional development activities.

    Electronic Health Records (EHR): Utilize the electronic health record system effectively to document patient encounters, review test results, and ensure accurate and timely record-keeping.

    ~ Administrative and Leadership Responsibilities:
    Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and administrative duties as needed. Contribute to strategic planning, resource allocation, and program development efforts.
    ~ Adhere to all regulatory and compliance requirements, including documentation standards, billing practices, and patient privacy guidelines. Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation.
    ~ Follow College of Medicine organizational protocols, policies, and procedures.

    Fellowship training in pulmonology subspecialties, critical care or commensurate experience is expected.
    A Florida medical license or eligibility for Florida licensure and Board eligibility/certification in Pulmonology is required.
    Completion of an accredited Pulmonology fellowship program.
    Strong commitment to patient care, research, education, and academic excellence.

    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and trainees.

    Appreciation of the role of holistic care of the patient and family is preferred.

    The ability to effectively communicate with different members of the healthcare system as well as a variety of learners from diverse backgrounds is required.

    Applicants with teaching experience with students/residents, experience with administrative organization/leadership of outpatient practices, and/or clinical research/scholarship experience will be most competitive.
