    JOB SUMMARY
    The Product Engineer supports the Sales department with both technical and non-technical related activities.

    This person specializes in understanding technical and manufacturing aspects of our products and can explain them to our potential customers.

    It"s an engineer or technical backgrounded person looking for the combination of an engineer with an outgoing sales attitude.

    One who can learn and develop skills to cost & quote custom parts, combined with a personality and attitude to enjoy selling, talking to customers, not being afraid to talk price, willing and able to pick up the phone to call potential customers, and go for the close.

    The product engineer will be an analytical thinker able to analyze various sales metrics and data to determine trends and draw conclusions to act upon.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Evaluate customer request for quotes (RFQ"s) to determine manufacturing feasibility
    • Develop costing to manufacture a product
    • Assist sales, manufacturing, and quality to understand customer demands
    • Assist customer service team with technical information
    • Establish customer bonding and rapport
    • Perform outbound customer prospecting and quotation follow-ups to close sales
    • Review sales metrics and provide analytical data as needed
    • Respond to technical inquiries and provide support via phone and email
    • Working experience in an ERP system
    Job Requirements

    SKILLS and ABILITIES

    • Strong communication and presentation skills
    • Must be an analytical thinker
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and provide continuous improvements
    • Proficient in computer skills, Windows environment, and Microsoft office programs
    • Working knowledge of SolidWorks is a plus
    • Able to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings
    • Knowledge of CNC Screw Turning machinery is a plus
    • Able to learn and understand basic raw materials and their properties
    • Highly organized and detail oriented
    • Must be driven self-starter that works with little supervision
    • Ability to multi-task and set priorities
    • Must be a Team player able to interact with all departments in the Company
    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor"s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent mechanical machine shop experience
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
