    As a Specialist on the 'Pathways to Partnership' grant, you will play a crucial role in our mission to ensure a successful secondary transition for Oklahoma students with disabilities.

    You will be responsible for delivering comprehensive training, support, and guidance to school district staff, empowering them to better serve and support students with disabilities during their transition from secondary education to post-secondary life.

    This position is funded by a federal grant scheduled to end on September 29, 2028.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor's degree in special education, secondary transition, or related field [official transcripts required upon hire];
    • Four (4) years of experience in special education at the secondary level with extensive knowledge of the secondary transition process for students with disabilities in Oklahoma;
    • Possession of a valid teaching certificate in Special Education;ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
    • Comprehensive Knowledge and Expertise: Extensive knowledge of secondary transition services for students with disabilities, including transition planning, work-based learning, and post-secondary education and employment options. Proficiency in designing and delivering professional development to empower educators and professionals in enhancing their support for students during the transition to post-secondary education.
    • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs, workshops, and resources to school district staff. These programs should cover a wide range of topics related to secondary transition and the needs of students with disabilities.
    • Needs Assessment: Conduct needs assessments within school districts to identify specific areas where additional support and resources are required to improve the secondary transition process for students with disabilities.
    • Resource Development: Create and curate resources, tools, and materials that will aid school district staff in effectively supporting students with disabilities. Ensure that these resources are up-to-date and readily accessible.
    • Consultation and Support: Provide ongoing consultation and support to school district staff, assisting them in addressing individual challenges and facilitating the development of tailored solutions.
    • Collaborate with other members of the 'Pathways to Partnership' grant team, as well as external stakeholders, to align efforts, share best practices, and coordinate activities for maximum impact.
    • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of training programs and initiatives. Use this data to inform improvements and adjustments as needed.
    • Advocacy and Outreach: Advocate for the rights and needs of students with disabilities and their families. Engage in outreach efforts to raise awareness and foster community engagement.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTLocation:

    • Work is typically performed in a climate-controlled office setting with exposure to moderate noise. While performing the duties of the job, employee is frequently required to talk, stand, walk.
    This position requires long periods of sitting and daily use of computer and phone.
