    As a Tax Manager, you'll play a key role in that mission, providing tailored tax compliance and consulting for some of our most prestigious clients across all backgrounds.

    The opportunityEY's tax practice provides comprehensive and specialized tax assistance tailored to the unique needs of the private equity industry.


    You would join our tax professionals who are knowledgeable and experienced with varied and specialized facets of private equity fund taxation, including fund and organizational structuring, tax minimization planning, on-call advice, and tax compliance.

    Your key responsibilitiesAs a Manager in our private equity sector, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating tax compliance and advisory work for clients.


    You will work with a team on all facets private equity fund and management company taxation, including fund and organizational structuring, tax minimization planning, on-call advice, and tax compliance.

    Assist with a team to coordinate tax compliance and advisory work for clients.


    Work on key client issues in domestic federal, international and state and local taxation with a focus on implementing tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives.

    Compute taxes owed, prepare tax returns, and ensure that taxes are paid properly and on time.


    Required to obtain a CPA, JD or other alternate certifications based on approval from practice leadership within one year from hire date.

    Manage and motivate teams with diverse skills and backgrounds.

    Consistently deliver quality client services by monitoring progress.

    Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge.

    Maintain long-term client relationships and networks.

    Cultivate business development opportunities.

    To qualify for the role you must have:

    A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, management information systems, or related field, as well as approximately six years of related work experience, OR a graduate degree in tax, law or management information systems, and approximately five years of related work experienceA valid US Enrolled Agent, CPA or licensed attorney designationExperience with preparing tax research and the related analysisProficient in analyzing large datasetsA minimum of 4 years of experience in private equity structuring taxation and experience in managed investment vehicles for the financial services industry.


    Broad exposure to federal income taxation and some exposure to state and local taxMust have 4 years of experience preparing partnership book/tax allocations including incentive fee re-allocation, side pocket, transfer partnership interest, and/or fill up/down.

    The ability to learn complex tax and industry concepts and apply them to specific client scenariosGood managerial, organizational, project management and verbal/written communication skillsThe ability to work well in a team environment and be comfortable supervising teams of EY personnel and client personnelBusiness and tax technical writing skillsProficiency with MS Excel, MS Access, and data mining toolsWillingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environmentIdeally, you'll also have· Excellent managerial, leadership, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills· Demonstrated business development skillsWhat we look forHard working team player who is comfortable partnering with others as well as working independently.

    The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $94,100 to $172,500.

    The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $112,900 to $196,000.

    Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
