    Job Description

    Our Company

Miso Robotics is transforming the food industry, and making lives better. We've developed an AI-powered kitchen robot named Flippy which automates the most repetitive of kitchen tasks, such as operating a deep fryer. Our product is a robotic arm on a rail that fits into existing kitchens along existing cook lines and is designed to work with existing equipment alongside kitchen workers. Under the hood, Flippy relies on our platform which combines deep learning and other computer vision technologies with optimization-based scheduling and nonlinear control to adapt quickly to a variety of kitchen workflows, while achieving graceful and efficient motion. Flippy is powered by a sophisticated AI platform – all driven by our proprietary and patented technologies.

Miso is a well known first-mover in kitchen automation, AI, and robotics. The company has raised over $100 million from crowdfunding, which we believe makes it THE most successful crowdfunding story in history. It has successfully piloted its products with the most prominent global brands in food, and now it's time for the company to partner with institutional capital and super-charge the commercialization of what we do.

The challenge of bringing robotics into commercial kitchens requires many disciplines to come together. The compositions of teams at Miso Robotics reflect this multidisciplinary nature of our work. We have built a world-class team and we are looking for more exceptional people to join us. If you believe, like we do, that the future of the kitchen involves robotics and artificial intelligence (HINT: It definitely does) and if you want to count yourself among the handful of lucky people who've found themselves with the opportunity to solve this problem, then Miso Robotics might be the right place for you

    Our Values

    • We live with a TEAM mindset - we win together.
    • We work relentlessly together to solve issues.
    • We use polite and direct candor - ego has no place here.
    • We operate with rigor - superb execution is a core skill.
    • We are bought in, each of us is dedicated to the mission.
    • Innovation is in our blood - we are intrepid.
    • We think big and we're here to make an impact.

    Benefits We Offer
    • Company equity
    • Flexible vacation
    • Comprehensive benefits
    • 401K plan
    • Accelerated growth opportunities
    • Free snacks from our robot chefs

    The Role

As a Sr. Mechanical Engineer on the Miso team, you will use your expertise in mechanical engineering to own the design, prototype, and commercialization of mechanical components of our robotic kitchen assistants focused primarily on improving the experience for the users of our systems. You will work with users of our product to make our products easier to work with. You will own the full development lifecycle.

The pay range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000 + equity + benefits. Since the company is pre-revenue, we all view our equity as being a key driver of why we choose to work at Miso. Our salary ranges are determined by data from our industry peers, the level of responsibility, job-related skills required, training, education, experience, and the current stage of Miso's growth. The range posted for this role represents a range that Miso Robotics, in good faith, believes it is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
    What You'll Do

    • Collaborate closely with product managers, software, and other mechanical engineers to evaluate and optimize designs for customer needs, reliability, and ease of deployment into a live restaurant environment.
    • Lead the full development cycle of various robot subsystems (mechanical, electronic, software, etc.) to meet defined performance requirements. This includes architecture definition, component selection, system design, analysis, testing, qualification, etc.
    • Take ownership of the hardware delivery timeline and overall success from concept to deployment.
    • Design, prototype, and build mechanical modules for robotic systems.
    • Implement rigorous testing protocols, creating testing documentation and test designs.
