    BWXT is currently seeking several Manufacturing Engineers for its Advanced Technologies location in Lynchburg, VA

    BWXT's Advanced Technologies (AT) group researches, designs, and develops innovative new nuclear reactors, nuclear rocket propulsion systems, and radioisotope production systems for both internal and external customers.

    The position will be located in the Lynchburg, VA Advanced Technologies office. Relocation benefits are available for this position.

    Create design models and detailed drawings using Solidworks CAD software and other design methods.
    Provide engineering support involving assembly, testing and inspection of electromechanical components and systems.
    Lead and assist in the development and qualification of advanced manufacturing technologies.
    Support assembling prototype and production equipment.
    Write manufacturing/assembly plans, procedures, and instructions as well as assist with testing/qualification reports.
    Support engineering procurement efforts and control of tooling.
    Support Operations (hand tools, power tools, machining equipment, and automated equipment).
    Provide other engineering and manufacturing support tasks as required.

    A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g. Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering other engineering related disciplines) is required.
    Must have knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.

    General knowledge of project engineering activities (task plans, schedules, etc.) Hands-on manufacturing experience for industrial equipment and familiarity with both traditional and advanced manufacturing methods is required.

    Experience with manufacturing for nuclear reactor applications is desired, but not required.
    Department of Energy (DOE) or Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance, whichever is required.


    However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.

    Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
