Day in the Life of a RN Home Care:

Home Care positions travel to various locations within the city and require the use of a personal vehicle with insurance coverage. This position works under the supervision of Home Care leadership. The RN Home Care assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises patient/family care in the home based on age-specific needs/expected outcomes according to policies and procedures. Accepts responsibility for direction of coworkers in the implementation of care plans.

Here is what you will be doing:

Uses the nursing process when planning and providing patient/family care.
Coordinates patient care activities and maintains communications with other disciplines.
Oversees the delegation of specifics of Care Plan to other employees.
Teaches the patient/family about the patient's care needs, disease prevention and health maintenance measures.
Performs technical procedures safely according to policies and procedures.
Maintains accurate and timely records according to policy.
Demonstrates self-directed behavior.
Attends a minimum of 15 hours of continuing education on a yearly basis.

Desired skills:

Ability to develop positive interaction with patients, patients' families, physicians, and staff in order to effectively care for the patients.
Ability to assess, evaluate, explain, teach, problem solve using critical thinking, and perform calculations.
Ability to work independently with excellent organizational skills, time management, sound judgement, and attention to detail
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Here's what you will need:

Wyoming Registered Nurse (RN) License or enhanced Nurse Licensure (eNLC)
Valid USA driver's license
Must have clean driving record that follows Cheyenne Regional Medical Center's driving guidelines
Cheyenne Regional AHA RQI within 14 calendar days of start date

Nice to have:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing
Home care nursing experience
