Performs all major repair work and replacement of defective parts on automobiles and other motorized equipment such as compressors, trucks, and pumps, etc.

The most senior Automobile Mechanic must qualify for and substitute as Leader, as assigned.

Must drive automotive equipment trucks and operate power equipment (including payloader and forklift as it relates to duties of the Transportation Department).

Candidate needs to have the ability to read and write in English with comprehension.
Candidate needs to have audio capability to hear engines with a corrective device.


Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
Auto Repair, Inspections, and Emissions Testing certifications need to be acquired within 6 months of start date.

Must have valid State Motor Vehicle Operator's License, CDL required endorsements and Tanker endorsements (CDL permit within 60 days, CDL license within 6 months).
