    Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

    This position is for a Tools and Parts Attendant Supervisor, Position Description Number D located in the Joint Forces Headquarters-Georgia, Logistics Directorate (J-4), Surface Maintenance Facility at MATES Fort Stewart, Georgia.

    This is a full-time, Excepted Permanent, dual status position which requires Georgia Army National Guard Membership.


    Area of Consideration:
    Current members of the Georgia Army National Guard.

    Responsibilities As a Tools and Parts Attendant Supervisor, WS , you will:
    Plan use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis.

    Ensure all aspects of Force Protection to include physical security, key control, property accountability, access control and employee protection in accordance with established policies and regulations.

    Participate with the supervisor in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, estimates, and recommendations as to scheduling projected work.

    Set performance standards, and makes formal appraisals of subordinate work performance. Implement and comply with facility, agency, state, and federal regulatory Occupational Safety and Health, and environmental requirements. Determine training needs of subordinates and arranges for accomplishment. Ensure use of quality conformant products through compliance with established materials shelf life programs. Redirect individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work. Perform other duties as assigned.

    General Experience:
    Must possess experience which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports


    Specialized Experience:

    Candidate must have 36 months specialized experience in addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel.

    Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function.

    Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes.

    Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. Physical Effort.

    Works on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.

    Frequently lifts and carries tools, parts, supplies, and equipment that weigh up to 10 pounds. Occasionally, handles items that weigh up to 40 pounds. Weight handling equipment is available for assistance with heavier items.


    Working Conditions:
    Frequently exposed to cuts, bruises, scrapes, strains, and burns.

    Work is performed inside and outside on hard surfaces with exposure to dust, dirt, grease, drafts, fumes, and changing temperatures.

    Some work may also be performed on equipment with exposure to fluids such as oil and acid.

    Follows prescribed safety practices and uses safety equipment such as protective ear devices, hard hats, hard-toe shoes, gloves, respirators, and protective clothing.

    Some of these safety items may be uncomfortable to wear or use, and may be worn or used for long periods of time.
