    Network Engineer IV

    Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Network Engineer for a contract position in Richfield, MN
    The opportunity will be eight months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.

    Position Summary: Our team and engineers help support, build, and innovate our network connectivity and automation capabilities
    Our engineers will work with other engineers to implement, manage support, troubleshoot, and improve all areas of network connectivity as well as collaborate with application/development teams
    Technology solutions we are responsible for include the following services: Cisco & Fortinet based route, SDWAN, switch campus
    remote site, data canter and cloud infrastructure, multiple vendor wireless technologies, Infoblox DNS/DHCP/IPAM, global and local load balancing solutions, security solutions to include firewalls, proxies, VPN, web application firewalls SSL decrypt, NAC, network monitory/packet capture analysis and cloud-based computing solutions
    Our engineers work on various squads to respect to expertise and cross-domain knowledge in remote site connectivity, data center connectivity, network security, telcom services, and tools and automation services.

    Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
    • Designs, configures, installs, and supports large enterprise platforms/products from start to finish.
    • Keeps up with industry trends and be an advocate for the standards.
    • Leader of all phases of a large capability or set of products or processes.
    • Ensure the quality of one or more teams' output.
    • Identify opportunities in the SDLC, application support, reliability, and monitoring; and recommend tools and standards to be used across teams to improve efficiency.
    • Understand and influence the broad architecture of multiple systems or processes.
    • Up to date on evolving standards, platform features, and critical vendor and community-provided technologies.
    • Solves highly complex issues often applying new approaches.
    • Fully understands consequences and risks of changes to the systems or processes they support.
    • Regularly delivers projects on-time and is constantly working to make accurate estimates and deliver on those estimates.
    • Owns the technical testing and performance of the products or process they support.
    • Understands and can communicate effectively about the tradeoffs between technical, analytical, and product needs.
    • Sets direction at the project or product or process level and consistently influences decision making across teams.
    • Tackles hard/complex debugging, triaging, incident response, and reverse-engineering tasks.
    • Maintains and influences business relationships as well as technical relationships with a growing network of peers.
    • Provides feedback on products outside of their core area.
    • Training/mentorship of other engineers
    • The ideal engineer candidates have in depth of knowledge to aid them in anticipating technical issues at the product level and make architectural and design decisions to avoid them.
    • This engineer leads and effectively triages complex issues across systems in many environments
      Takes the lead in root cause analysis.
    • They demonstrate creativity and takes initiative in solving complex problems
      The engineer will participate in the creation and presentation of technical designs.
    • They will be a major contributor in the delivery of complex solutions.
    • They are an active participant in planning activities and contributes to strategic planning.
    • They can fill in holes in product/services direction and take the appropriate action within their team.
    • Aware of the technology landscape, they plan delivery of coarse-grained business needs spanning multiple services and platforms.
    • They influence technical peers outside their team in some areas.
    • This candidate sets a consistent example of agile development practices and coaches other engineers to work as a team with Product and Services related to Infrastructure.
    Qualifications:
    • 5 years of relevant experience with bachelor's or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, business or related field, OR appropriate industry certification(s) OR equivalent relevant professional experience
    • 6+ years of experience for all
      • Prior network install and support work experience in a large global enterprise sites)
      • Network field experience installing and supporting network hardware such as: Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Palo Alto, F5, Infoblox
      • Solid experience with TCP/IP and routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF)
      • Experience driving automation efforts (Terraform, ansible) use of languages like YAML, Jason, Python
      • AWS cloud experience

    Preferred:
    • 7-8+ years of relevant professional experience
    • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
    • Appropriate industry certification(s) (Examples: Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Palo Alto
      F5, AWS)
    • Prior work experience in a large global enterprise sites)
    • Azure, GCP or AWS and hybrid cloud expertise.
    • Experience driving automation efforts.
    • Development and architecture experience for network connectivity and security solutions
