    Job Summary

    AECOM is seeking a dynamic and experienced Client Account Manager to drive growth for Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). This external facing leader will represent AECOM with TxDOT and be responsible for statewide business development, sales, and strategy across all districts and divisions for this key client in our Headquarter city of Dallas, TX with a goal of winning new and repeat business.
    This position is expected to begin immediately.

    Job Summary/Responsibilities

    The candidate will need to be a growth minded leader who can work collaboratively with others senior leadership in Transportation and other Business Lines Texas, and mentor staff in a fast pace setting to drive strategic planning, business development, sales & marketing, opportunity identification, capture management, and strategy.

    The ideal person should be able to demonstrate knowledge of the engineering and construction industry, develop knowledge of the company, and be responsible for hiring and developing best-in-class business developers.

    The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:

    • Serve as AECOMs primary point of contact with TxDOT.
    • Review and understand AECOMs obligations on current TxDOT contracts.
    • Regularly meet with staff from multiple levels of TxDOT to obtain feedback on AECOMs performance and identify opportunities.
    • Monitor client satisfaction and addresses performance issues.
    • Prepare Client Account Plan and Opportunity Capture Plans.
    • Manage and maintain the TxDOT pipeline of opportunities.
    • Ensure TxDOT becomes a sustainable source of repeat business.
    • Work with Regional Business Line Leaders and Texas Business Development Director on development of sales, strategies and opportunities
    • Identify upcoming TxDOT pursuits in the Texas market.
    • Position AECOM for pursuits that best fit our skillset.
    • Lead the proposal development process including Statement of Qualifications, Technical Proposals and Presentations.
    • Attend conferences and workshops to strengthen existing TxDOT relationships and establish new TxDOT relationships
    • Obtain an understanding of emerging technologies and market drivers.
    • Maintain a high local and regional profile
    • Provide leadership in recruiting and retaining top talent for TxDOT opportunities
    • Is fully accountable for Business Development activities within the Industry Segment (Sub-Unit).

    Minimum Requirements

    • 12 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience
    • Experience in business development, and strong existing relationships with, transportation agencies in Texas
    • Existing relationships within the transportation community in Texas, and active involvement in local professional organizations

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree required in planning, engineering, architecture, or a related field
    • 15+ years of related experience and leadership
    • Strong understanding of best practices in capture process for professional services
    • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM systems
    • Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
    • Ability to communicate problems clearly and simply to clients, leadership, and technical staff
    • Ability to balance various project and company responsibilities and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and quality
