    Short Description for Internal Candidates

    POSITION PURPOSE: Directs and manages the efforts of the Division office in the area of Direct Store Delivery (DSD) receiving. Works with Category Managers, Sales Managers, pricers, vendors, and other designated business as assigned to ensure Price Maintenance costs/allowances and invoices are correct. Works with Operations personnel and Receiving Clerks to ensure that Company policy and procedures are followed.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
    1. Conducts DSD training at division and store level. Develops training to assist Store Directors, Retail Unit Department Managers and Store Support personnel manage the benefits of the DSD System. Develop and manage Key Receiving Clerk trainers that can handle questions from stores in their area and conduct store level training.
    2. Assists store level managers with questions and training regarding retail track and purchase reports.
    3. Assists in the development of training programs, aids and manuals for store and StoreSupport Center personnel training programs.
    4. Implements changes in equipment and software, coordinating through equipment manufacturers and Corporate Staff.
    5. Coordinates with management the continual improvement process by acting upon department needs, ideas, and problems.
    6. Interfaces with stores and DSD vendors to solve any payment disputes regarding shy invoices, short payments, etc. Researches claims for credit to determine validity and works with vendors to resolve issues.
    7. Sets up the DSD environment in new stores and insures back end systems are running properly.
    8. Oversees grossing during store closings and checks to make sure all company inventories are correctly accounted for.
    9. Identifies shrink issues causing large write offs and develops an action plan to correct the shrink problem.
    10. Reviews and acts upon reclamation reports.
    11. Assists the set-up and maintenance of Scan Based trading relationships with vendors.
    12. And any other job responsibilities/duties assigned by the division.
    KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
    1. Education Level:
      1. Bachelor's Degree in business or related field
    Skills and Experiences:
    1. Previous experience in retail receiving, scanning and/or price maintenance systems with Parent Company. Store level experience preferred. Training background helpful.
    2. Must have excellent organizational skills.
    3. Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    4. Must be able to speak effectively before groups and have the ability to communicate concepts, systems, procedures, etc. in a training environment.
    5. Must be able to interface effectively with a wide variety of personnel.
    6. Must possess the ability to work with little or no supervision.
    7. Excellent customer service skills and strong sense of urgency.
    8. Good analytical skills combined with an orientation for details.
    9. Must have team and relationship building skills and work effectively in a team environment.
    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Travel dependent upon geography

    PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
    1. Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
    2. Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
    3. Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday
    4. Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
