    Profile

    The engineering manager is responsible for leading and supervising a team of engineers who work on improving the production process of automotive components. They oversee the design, development, testing, and implementation of engineering solutions that enhance the quality, efficiency, and safety within the manufacturing operations. The role has budgetary responsibility for the department. Implement and manage kaizen initiatives by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.

    Responsibilities

    1. Contribute to the creation and implementation of engineering best practices to include planning, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
    2. Monitor and evaluate the performance of the engineering team and provide feedback and guidance to drive functional excellence
    3. Develop and maintain project plans and budget profiles to ensure delivery of milestones to agreed cost targets and timelines.
    4. Identify and justify capital equipment investment
    5. Provide technical inputs to bids for new business and facilitate successful outcomes.
    6. Ensure accuracy of production engineering data and analysis documentation.
    7. Stay current and up to date on any technology changes that may affect manufacturing design and development and advise other of any impact.
    8. Ensure that the engineering processes and procedures stay in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors.
    9. Responsible to solve factory issues, coordinates operations, negotiates with and requests cooperation from other departments and external parties.
    10. Collaborate with other departments to create a company culture of respect, inclusivity, efficiency and safety
    Qualifications
    1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred
    2. Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience
    3. Minimum 3 years manufacturing management experience in a company with over 100 employees
    4. Knowledge of automotive manufacturing industry, total quality management systems and engineering best practices
    5. Effective oral and written communications skills
    Desirable Qualifications
    1. Experience in a cross-cultural working environment.
    Manufacturing leadership experience in the automotive industry.
