Drafter – Substation

The Substation Drafter supports the design of substation engineering projects.

Primary Responsibilities

Create electrical drawings for facilities, such as lighting systems, power systems, communications, security, and fire detection in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC)

Develop entry-level drawings by using computer-aided design software under the direct supervision of other Electrical Technicians or Engineers

Demonstrate knowledge of procedures for production of design developments and construction documents, and a thorough knowledge of engineering planning, drafting, and detailing

Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications

Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience

Strong computer skills Microsoft Office, AutoCAD

Database/Document Management familiarity

Preferred Qualifications

1+ years of experience in designing electrical lighting, power, and systems for building projects

Experience in Healthcare, Science and Technology and/or Civic facilities

Experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm highly desirable

Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired

Experience with MicroStation required
