Job DescriptionIf you're enthusiastic and motivated with a friendly demeanor and have the ability to work well in a team environment, you'll fit right into this host/hostess role Excellent communication skills and a warm, courteous manner are needed for speaking with guests, answering phone inquiries, and making accurate reservations. One of your key duties will be to meet and greet guests warmly as they enter the restaurant and walk them to their seats. $12 - $15 hourly

Responsibilities:

• Guide diners to their seats and make sure everyone has the correct number of menus, utensils, napkins, and filled water glasses
• Monitor the dining room for tidiness, ensure all tables and chairs are organized, and that condiments are restocked when needed
• Acknowledge all customers warmly immediately upon arrival to ensure their first impression of the restaurant is positive
• Help clear and wipe down tables and set up tables with utensils and glassware for the next party
• Know the menu items and how dishes are prepared and be able to answer any questions about daily specials
• Take carryout orders and online orders

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the food and beverage industry and/or hospitality industry is appreciated but not a requirement
• Thrive in a fast-moving environment while working in a team situation with extended hours of standing to be expected
• Must have excellent communication, customer service, and organization skills, as well as the ability to deal with customer requests in a courteous, efficient, and timely manner
• For this position, a high school diploma or the equivalent GED is needed, as well as a good understanding of how to speak and read English
