    Who You AreAs a part-time instructor in the Allied Health Department, you provide instruction in all levels of the medical assisting.

    You work individually, as well as in collaboration with colleagues, to develop innovative curriculum which meets the needs of our diverse population of students.

    Student retention and success is your top priority. You will utilize technology and effective teaching strategies to develop students' critical thinking skills.

    You serve as representative of the department by participating in committees, task forces, and events at the campus, college, and/or state levels.

    You may be asked to teach at different times, locations and modalities to meet the needs of the College.


    Please note:
    This is an on-campus position with some remote work opportunities. You need to be a Colorado resident on your first day of employment.


    SALARY:

    The pay range for Part-Time Instructors varies, depending on the type of course, the contact ratio and contact hours, as well as your level of education and years of teaching.

    BENEFITS:
    Part-Time Instructors will have their hours measured on an annual basis to determine eligibility to enroll in medical health insurance only for the following benefit period

    Preliminary screening will be made on the basis of completed application package submitted by candidate.


    Completed application package includes:

    A resume; A letter of interest; A copy of official transcripts; A one-page statement of your teaching philosophy; and A list of courses and the semesters you have taught.

    Primary Duties

    Teaches courses consistent with CCCNS template and appropriate course content guide, catalog description, at the scheduled time and place and meets required contact hours.

    Assist in instruction as needed under the supervision of the primary instructor or program director for laboratory courses, including but not limited to lab preparation, student skills assessment and open laboratory sessions.

    Assist as a primary instructor for concurrent enrollment courses held at a local high school.

    Submits syllabus to department by the end of the first week of class and provides each student with a syllabus that complies with FRCC/department syllabus guidelines by the end of the first week including all course requirements, course evaluation procedures, attendance requirements, make-up examination policy, and related course procedures if they are assigned primary instructor.

    Learns and uses college software for final reporting, grades, student roster and attendance.
    Uses appropriate resources, technology, and pedagogy in the delivery of courses.
    Creates an effective learning environment for students.
    Completing any mandatory trainings.
    Maintain professional, ethical, and legal responsibilities, i.e., FERPA, copyrights, etc.
    Communicates with the Program Director regularly.
    Maintains a safe learning lab environment for students that is fully stocked. Ensure inventory is done and reported to Program director.
    If assisting as secondary instructor communicates with primary instructor regularly.
    Attend mandatory program/campus meetings.
    Maintain professional credentialsPerform other duties as assignedMay have to conduct evening courses that typically run from 05:00 p.m.-09:30 p.m.
    May have to conduct morning/early afternoon courses that typically run from 07:30 am-11:00 am; 11:30 pm-02:50 pm.
    Qualifications

    Required Education/Training & Work Experience:

    A related Associate degree (or relevant current industry license or certification) and 4000 verified occupational/industry hours within 5 years; OR,A related Bachelor's or any Master's degree with 18 discipline related credits and 4000 verified occupational/industry hours within 5 years.


    Related Degree, Credential, and/or Occupational Experience:

    Health Care Administration degree, Certified billing and coding specialist, 1 year of previous work as a health care office manager, health care supervisor, or owner/operator of a health care facility, or holds, have held/or is eligible to hold one of the following credentials: Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CCMA), Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA-C), Medical Doctor (MD), Certified Nurse Midwife, Registered Nurse (RN), Limited Practice Nurse (LPN).Welcoming.

    RetirementFRCC employees contribute to Colorado PERA, which provides retirement and other benefits to employees of more than 500 government agencies and public entities in the state of Colorado.

    PERA is the 21st largest public pension plan in the United States and is a substitute for Social Security; FRCC employees do not contribute to Social Security.

    PERA eligible employees are required to contribute a fixed percentage of their salary to the pension.

    Student employees are not eligible to participate in PERA.FRCC and the State of Colorado also offer three tax-deferred supplemental investment plans, including 401(k), 403(b) and 457 plans.

    This position requires FRCC to provide proof to the Colorado Department of Education that instructors and faculty possess the education and occupational experience to obtain a Vocational Teaching Credential (CTE).
