    Description

    Job Description:
    This is an opportunity to join our team as a Vehicle Maintenance Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing trailers, liftgates, and reefer units. Your tasks will include conducting brake checks, brake replacements, liftgate and reefer repairs, as well as federal inspections.

    • Maintain trailer fleet to ensure optimal uptime
    • Service and repair Reefer units
    • Inspect and replace brake shoes as necessary
    • Inspect and replace trailer tires
    • Conduct yearly Federal inspections on the trailer fleet
    • Service and repair liftgates
    • Maintain and service the switcher truck fleet
    • Perform other assigned duties by management

    Requirements:

    • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
    • Familiarity with common hand tools
    • Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently or as part of a team
    • Effective verbal communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of air brake systems
    • Experience in working with diesel engines
    • Previous experience or willingness to be trained in driving a switcher pulling a 53' trailer
    • Expertise in hydraulic systems

    Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

    This role will mainly be based in a trailer shop environment, with occasional work in indoor office settings for administrative tasks. Fluency in English is a must. The job may involve exposure to outdoor elements such as dust and allergens. Candidates should be prepared for activities that require standing, sitting, squatting, kneeling, bending, reaching, and twisting regularly.

    Applicants must be able to operate all necessary machinery and work evenings and weekends based on business needs. Lift capabilities of 35 pounds unaided and up to 50 pounds with assistance are required.

    Schedule and Shift Details:
    Monday-Friday, 3:55pm-2:00am. Overtime and weekends may be necessary.
