    Description

    Position Overview:

    We are searching for someone that is a licensed professional engineer in, at least, the state of Minnesota to design earth retention, intermediate, and deep foundation systems. The Professional Engineer will be responsible for designing preliminary bidding projects and secured projects. Quality projects are critical for success. The Professional Engineer will work with the estimators to design, estimate, and inspect projects, as well as, initiating communication between customer(s) and project team(s). The communication function is key to ensure that the quality and timeliness of work is satisfactory, and Atlas Foundation Company is the customers first thought when it comes to deep foundation construction needs.

    Essential Duties:

    • Competent in the design of various deep foundation, earth retention structures, and ground improvement solutions.
    • Visit physical locations where projects are currently underway to monitor task completion and ensure the goals are being met
    • Supervise the scope of a large scale construction project and assess each workers contribution to the building or maintenance stage
    • Collaborate with the project management team of a build to offer assistance with technical details for the design or building process
    • Calculate the supply details for building materials and the labor requirements and determine the cost of everything to see if it falls within the budget of the project
    • Survey building sites to determine ideal layouts for construction, identify elevations and grades and find reference points for each project
    • Research potential environmental risks and impacts from the scope of the project and develop a plan to address concerns
    • Write detailed summaries of project timelines, environmental impact reports, requests for proposals and other written statements for private and public entities
    • Maintain optimal standards during project management that follow all relevant federal, state, local and industry guidelines
    • Generates the assigned volume of accurate estimates for assigned projects based on complexity
    • Purchases materials and manages subcontracts economically and expeditiously for assigned projects
    • Efficiently coordinates field and office activities as well as assigned project schedules
    • Maintains consistent pro-active contact and communication with Superintendents and customer stakeholders
    • Increases job knowledge by participating in professional educational opportunities and reading professional publications
    • Maintains and grows professional networks; and participates in professional organizations can convert to new business
    • Executes all other assigned duties and growth opportunities demonstrating high personal accountability and effort
    • Seeks to innovate, adding value to projects by finding new applications, materials, and processes for existing and new services

    Skills/Qualifications:

    Required:

    • Bachelors degree in engineering
    • State (MN) professional engineer license
    • Three or more years of experience as a professional engineer
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD or other engineering design programs

    Preferred:

    • Masters degree in engineering
    • Background in Civil and Geotechnical engineering
