    Summary:


    This is a full-time position that is responsible for purchasing crude oil in support of Eighty-Eight Oil's business operations and strategies.

    The incumbent purchases crude oil from producers with the intent of capitalizing on supply/demand and capacity dynamics to maximize profit margins.

    This position requires the incumbent to fully understand regional, national, and global crude oil markets to both maximize purchasing opportunities and maximize company asset utilization.

    The incumbent must have strong interpersonal and customer service relationship skills, as well as a solid understanding of crude oil production and transportation operations and markets.

    Responsibilities:


    Purchases crude oil from producers at the wellhead and in bulk from aggregators at major pipeline interconnects and trading locations.

    Markets crude oil to refiners and/or other third parties.

    Works with trucking and logistics companies to ensure competitive rates, timely scheduling, routine and surge capacities, and resolution(s) to any operational/logistical issues.

    Communicates market trends and relevant information to company personnel.
    Understands and effectively prices crude by grade and market location to capitalize on supply/demand dynamics.
    Increases and optimizes throughput on existing company infrastructure.
    Monitors regional/national/global pricing indexes in order to develop strategies and increase profit margins.
    Coordinates all lease purchases with schedulers and supervisor.
    Complies with company risk and credit procedures, processes, volume/dollar limits, and policy.
    Seeks opportunities to capitalize on monthly supply chain dynamics and maximize profit margins.

    Provides customer-centered lease and bulk crude oil purchase services via a range of volume, pricing, and timeline options that optimize profit margins.

    Maintains knowledge in areas of production (lease operations, drilling, and title and division orders) and transportation (terminals, pipelines, trucks, and tariffs/pricing).

    Provides accurate input into software tools, including RightAngle, to ensure sound recordkeeping of all transactions including but not limited to, marketing arrangements, credit authorizations, tank strappings, contract preparation, scheduling, and invoicing.

    Maintains understanding and knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations.
    Maintains market knowledge and awareness on industry, market, customer, competitor, and refiner operations and activities.
    Professionally represents the company when working with customers/producers and ensures a customer-focused mentality and attitude.

    Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in any field.
    3 years' experience in the crude oil marketing/midstream sector.
    Ability to effectively handle dynamic, fast-paced operational environments during certain times of the monthly business cycle.

    Ability to effectively communicate and maintain strong interpersonal and teamwork skills to effectively work in all aspects of the company's operations.

    Ability to understand and comply with official documents (legal, tariffs, policy, safety, operating instructions, procedure manuals, etc.).
    English language fluency, verbal and written.
    Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol test.
