    Description

    Estimator

    Location: Dubuque, IA

    Requirements:

    • Specific product knowledge in doors, frames, and hardware
    • Familiarity with codes and standards

    We are seeking an experienced Estimator who pays attention to detail, excels at interpreting plans, works well in a team, and provides top-notch customer service.

    As a key team member, you will handle incoming sales calls, analyze plans thoroughly to determine bid feasibility, and deliver accurate bids to customers. Additionally, you will assist colleagues in pricing over-the-counter tickets and offering pricing guidance as necessary.

    Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate contract documents and strategize with the sales team for effective bidding
    • Stay updated on upcoming construction projects in Dubuque for bidding opportunities
    • Address architectural inquiries on hardware specifications
    • Build and maintain relationships with Architects and Contractors
    • Customize hardware solutions for Design-Build projects with Contractors
    • Obtain project plans and specifications for timely bid development
    • Identify and resolve discrepancies in construction documents to minimize risks
    • Provide detailed estimates using specialized spreadsheets for accurate costing

    Qualifications:

    • 2+ years of construction industry experience with product expertise in doors, frames, and hardware
    • Familiarity with codes, standards, architectural drawings, and specifications
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
    • Proficient in basic computer skills, including MS Excel

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    1. 2+ years of construction industry experience with product expertise in doors, frames, and hardware
    2. Strong analytical skills for data gathering and problem-solving
    3. Exceptional attention to detail and prioritization skills
    4. Proficiency in basic computer skills, particularly MS Excel
    5. Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder
