    If you're ready to take your career to the next level and gain valuable experience, apply todayThe Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting the physician/APRN(s) with patient care, clerical, data entry, medical record obtainment, environmental and organizational tasks, assisting with medical procedures, obtaining appropriate consents, conducting patient handoffs and providing information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the practices services.

    ResponsibilitiesThoroughly completes patient intake and rooms the patient, preparing them for examination and treatmentCompletes and documents patient intake including, but not limited to reason for visit, medical history, medications, current conditions and vital signs in the EHRResponsible in selection, setup and maintenance of medical supplies and equipment for all examinations and procedures, including advanced planning and subsequent sterilization afterwardGives injections, applies splints and dressings, and facilitates simple wound management under APRN or physician ordersRequired to draw and collect blood samples and specimens from patients and prepare/transport specimens for laboratory analysis with the highest level of care to ensure no errors and the highest level of patient comfort and careResponsible for charting on behalf of clinician ensuring information is accurate and documented correctly.

    May perform these tasks by employing the electronic medical record (EMR) system or by manual meansAppropriately documents new prescriptions and refillsCompletes pre-authorizations for medications and procedures as neededCompletes lab and radiology ordering in the system and through the documented workflow to ensure the highest, most efficient coordination of patient careInputs and completes all necessary orders for referrals in the EHR and completes the documented workflow to ensure the highest, most efficient coordination of patient care between our clinicians and the specialistCompletes chart checks and schedule reviews in advance to ensure effective, productive schedulingProvides the highest level of customer service and patient advocacy to patients ensuring they are thoroughly educated and guided through their visit and understand their long-term treatment plan for optimal health and/or ongoing disease managementCoordinates the patient handoff by obtaining all necessary information adhering to the documented workflow for the clinician and then, after the appointment, back from the clinician for appropriate, accurate patient dischargeResponsible for ensuring patient retention and practice financial success by ensuring patients leave with all necessary follow-up appointments and annual physicals scheduledMaintains a neat and professional work environmentStocks exam rooms, monitors equipment and maintains the highest cleanliness standardsPerforms other duties as assignedQualificationsCurrent MA/BLS/CPR certification requiredMinimum of one-year experience in a medical office setting as a medical assistantPhlebotomy experience required minimum of one-year experienceHigh School Diploma or equivalentPreferredBachelor's Degree; considerable prior coursework or on-the-job training in field of medical assistingProficiency in Epic EHRKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesComputer skills including data entry and Microsoft suite
