    Description


    A Construction Estimator will be responsible for working with General Contractors and Architects to survey projects, estimate labor and materials costs, and communicating financial cost and project timelines to customers.

    You must have a keen attention to detail and skills at estimating projects from a bird's-eye view to set our client's expectations accurately.

    Fulfill client appointments in a timely manner; Assess projects by identifying project requirements, regarding time, labor, and material costs; Read blueprints and analyze all other applicable documents to prepare estimates; Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and architects during estimate creation to ensure overall accuracy; Act as the final say in the calculation, analysis, and adjustment of estimates; Present estimates to clients in a timely and polite manner; Recommend value engineering options; Assist sales team in final project preparation transactions; Maintain thorough records of all project documentation, including estimates, sales receipts, and project completion documentation.

    Prepares estimates and works with General Contractors through company specific bid process to ensure timely and accurate bids in accordance with financial and departmental cost controls.

    Conducts on-site inspection as necessary to verify scope and quality compliance, technical issue problem-solving, project cost oversight, and overall schedule management for store opening forecast.

    Prepares all necessary documentation required for project approval and reconciles all changes across Scope of Work, Plans and Cost documentation to ensure accuracy.

    Partner with A&E and procurement to ensure national account pricing and contracts are incorporated into all estimate and bid documentation and validate compliance with contractual KPI's.

    Provide feedback to A&E and procurement as necessary regarding performance and market impacts on Cost and Timing.

    Partner with Construction Operations in maintenance of department tools and templates to ensure compliance with company policy and cost control methods to ensure up to date and accurate budgets, scopes and plans.

    Tracks and maintains database of historical and current cost averages.
    Strong math skills including algebra, geometry, and basic arithmetic.
    Ability to navigate specifications and plans.
    Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects.
    Ability to handle multiple assignments at once.
    Knowledge of the latest building codes.
    Close attention to detail; Excellent written and verbal communication skillsBachelor's degree preferred; background in mathematics required. Voluntary certification in the field is a plus. 5 years previous experience in a similar role. Ability to operate independently or in a team environment. Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal. Critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills. Time management skills.
