- Bachelors of Nursing Degree required
- Four (4) years clinical experience in an Operating room setting is required
- One year management experience is required
- Current RN license in the State of Florida
- BLS through American Heart Association
- Knowledge of human resource management; program development; fiscal management skills; and familiarity with regulatory and accrediting agency standard; Knowledge of standard business computer software programs; Ability to foster teamwork in a fast-paced environment; Knowledgeable in the professional field and industry; Ability to read and understand the English language; Demonstrated success in strategic business planning, program development/administration, fiscal accountability, and efficient resource management; Proven ability to facilitate and manage operational change while maintaining optimal patient, physician, and employee satisfaction. Description
Overview:
The Clinical Director of Surgical Services assumes administrative and operational responsibility for the management of the Operating Rooms and Anesthesia Services to include oversight of Pre/ Post Unit. This position participates in strategic planning as it relates to the patient care division, the hospital as a whole, and the health service, recommends space and resource allocation needed by the department/service. The incumbent establishes objectives and current standards of perioperative nursing practice; defines, interprets, and implements the philosophy and objectives for Surgical Services. She/he is responsible for profitable growth, accountable for strategic business planning, program development and administration, fiscal accountability, and efficient resource management; facilitates and manages operational change while maintaining optimal patient, physician, and employee satisfaction. The Clinical Director ensures compliance with the standards set forth by regulatory agencies, i.e., ACHA, CDC, CMS, and Department of Health including all documentation requirements. The Clinical Director continually evaluates with others, core processes to improve operations, reduce cost, reduce cycle time, enhance service, and improve quality and patient safety performance. The person in this position works independently , is responsible for various shifts, will work over 40 hours per week and assumes hospital administrative call on a rotational basis and as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
