Job SummaryThe Student Health Care Specialist provides specialized health care services and procedures.

The Student Health Care Specialist is an itinerant position and may perform assigned duties at school sites, during student transportation or at offsite locations based upon student needs.

Employees in this classification report to special education and school site administrators and also receive direction from District Nurses.

Requirements / QualificationsLVN or RN certification - please attach CPR/First Aid Certification - please attach Online First Aid certificates are acceptable, however, CPR must include "hands on" classroom training.

Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be added to a continuous filing eligibility list which is valid for six months.

Selection interviews will be scheduled as candidates qualify until both vacancies are filled. The competitive basis for this recruitment is Open/Promotional-Dual Certification. Veterans may be eligible for preference points on examinations. Please attach a copy of your DD214 to your application.

Employment with San Dieguito Union High School contingent upon successful completion of post-offer background check, fingerprinting, physical exam including tuberculosis, drug and alcohol screening, and an Oath of Allegiance.

The probationary period for a new or promotional employee is six months or 130 days of paid service, whichever is longer.
