    POSITION SUMMARY - This position is based in Arlington,
    VA

    The Senior Coordinator, Individual Giving provides holistic
    support to the Individual Giving team within CI's Development
    Division and serves on four key fronts: 1) Ensuring smooth and
    consistent communications between the major, principal and
    leadership giving teams; 2) Provide external support for SVP of
    Leadership Gifts, VP of Individual Giving, and Sr. Advisor for
    Strategic Gifts; 3) Support donor relations through moves
    management process development and project management for key donor
    relationships; and 4) Provide general support to the Individual
    Giving team. The Senior Coordinator needs to be proactive,
    resourceful, and use the highest level of discretion in their
    communications. They will need to know how to work across
    divisions, skill sets, and geographies to build trust and help
    ensure streamlined work.

    Reporting to the Vice President of Individual Giving, this is a
    crucial position to ensure a collaborative, proactive, and
    results-focused Individual Giving team. This job does not manage
    staff and does not have the authority to allocate resources or
    approve budget expenditures. Duties performed under general
    supervision.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Donor Relations

  • Schedule external meetings, prepare slide decks, take notes,
    and assist with tracking follow-up items for SVP of Leadership
    Gifts, VP of Individual Giving, and Sr. Advisor of Strategic
    Gifts.
  • Provide support for large and small donor cultivation and
    stewardship events (e.g., creating invitation lists, working with
    vendors, designing and producing invitations, managing and
    confirming responses, providing logistical support at the event,
    and executing post-event follow-up).
  • Assist with the development and finalization of high-quality
    proposals, concept papers, and reports.
  • Support donor stewardship and outreach opportunities around CI
    priority programs.
  • Draft thank you notes and other correspondence as needed for
    Leadership Level donors

    Individual Giving Team Support
  • Support VP, Individual Giving with performance metrics
    (dashboard) management to ensure that they accurately capture
    fundraising activities.
  • Work closely with Sr. Managers of Major Gifts and Leadership
    Engagement to ensure smooth and consistent communications and donor
    moves management strategies.
  • Support and document moves management plan development and
    provide project management support for key donor
    relationships.
  • Ensure that all relevant information about donors and prospects
    within relationship manager portfolios is entered and updated in
    Raiser's Edge. Support list review process (e.g., mailing lists,
    regional and portfolio giving history).
  • May be called on to support or collaborate on ad hoc projects
    and mailings for other teams, such as Sojourns, Major Gifts,
    Special Events, or Annual Giving.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

    Other duties as assigned by supervisor. All members of the
    Development team regularly serve as back-up to colleagues who are
    away from the office for short periods of time or on projects with
    tight deadlines.
    WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This will be a hybrid position, with 3 days based out of the
    Arlington, VA office.
  • Typical office environment. Equipment (laptop) and on-the-job
    training will be provided.
  • Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate time differences
    with HQ and field programs may be necessary.
  • Occasional travel may be required to support relationship
    managers and fundraising efforts.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required

  • 2 to 4 years of work experience, ideally on a development or
    nonprofit team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple processes at a given time.
  • Must be organized with strong attention to detail and the
    ability to work independently on assigned projects and within a
    team framework.
  • Ability to function well in a multicultural, diverse, and
    fast-paced work environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and basic computer
    operations.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a geographically
    dispersed team and to communicate with staff at offsite
    locations. This includes comfort with communicating and
    collaborating via phone, MS Teams, Zoom, and other platforms.
  • Commitment to advancing the principles of diversity, equity,

    Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience managing calendars for executives
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge or other fundraising
    database
  • A demonstrated passion for and interest in conservation and/or
    human development issues.
