    Summary

    The Court Clerk is responsible for attending criminal hearings and providing the Criminal Court with all required files and paperwork related to the designated caseload.

    A criminal background check is required.
    Essential Duties
    • Complete and distribute all paperwork related to caseload.
    • Catelogue all exhibits related to caseload.
    • Attend ARD and Drug Court hearings.
    • Complete and distribute all paperwork related to ARD and Drug Court hearings.
    • Assist in implementing in-house computerization and upcoming criminal court computerization and the records management program.
    • Assist support staff in docketing court sentencing on the computer and the taxing of related sentencing.
    • Perform other duties, tasks and special projects, as required.
    Qualifications/Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience

    Qualifications / Requirements:
    • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
    • Six months to one year of job-related experience and/or training.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to follow office protocol.
    • Accurate and detail-oriented.
    • Ability to coordinate and direct work assignments.
    • Ability to maintain confidential information and handle confidential matters.
    • Basic skills to use a personal computer and various software packages.
    Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
    • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Criminal Justice.
    • Two to three years of experience in a criminal justice setting.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to remain focused on daily operations.
    • Ability to establish priorities.
    • Flexibility.
    • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
    • General knowledge and understanding of County of Chester policies and procedures.
