Description

Our client is a growing Chemicals manufacturer with products that serve a wide range of highly innovative industry sectors.

In support of a growing and transforming procurement organization, we are hiring an experienced procurement professional with a background raw materials procurement to lead a broad base on complex categories.

The key focus of the position will be on leveraging spend, negotiating with suppliers & utilizing strategic sourcing, category management and supplier performance management processes and tools to deliver maximum value while managing risk.

Key responsibilities include:
Development and execution of sourcing strategies for raw materials categories in North America.

Development of procurement strategies that maintain and improve competitive business positions, in alignment with internal stakeholders and strategic business plans.

Negotiation of procurement agreements that are consistent with the category strategy and best practices
Management of key relationships with suppliers as part of a cross functional team
Development of a risk management strategy for critical spend categories


Experience required:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a business or technical field
5 + years of procurement experience, with at least 3 years experience within raw material procurement
A background in the chemical, pharmaceutical, consumer goods, or other formulation based manufacturing environment.
