    Vivo HealthStaff is recruiting for a Chief Medical Officer for a healthcare organization in Central Ohio.

    The ideal candidate will have significant clinical experience as a physician, demonstrated leadership capabilities, and outstanding interpersonal skills, capable of constructively resolving disagreements and conflicts.


    Opportunity Summary:

    In partnership with the Chief Operating Officer of a leading medical practices group, this role is pivotal in shaping clinical programs that enhance our status as a top-tier regional integrated health care system.


    The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is tasked with:

    • Participating as a key member of the Executive Steering Council (ESC), acting as a senior decisionmaker on a wide range of issues.
    • Ensuring collaborative efforts across the health system by departments such as Quality & Patient Safety, the Medical Staff Office, and Care Transitions to achieve strategic goals and implement best practices.
    • Developing a physicianled strategy to foster engagement and strong relationships with physicians and medical staff, supporting the president of the medical staff in committee meetings and other functions as per medical staff bylaws, and working closely with medical staff to enhance our comanagement structure.
    • Being actively involved in the community, serving on local boards, and participating in charitable organizations aimed at community and health improvement.

    Requirements:

    • Extensive clinical expertise as a physician with a minimum of ten years of active practice in a clinical setting.
    • At least five years of leadership experience in a medical role with growing responsibilities.
    • Eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio.
    • A dynamic executive presence and enthusiasm for nonprofit healthcare, finding personal fulfillment in contributing to organizational success and service excellence.
    • A proven track record in leading transformation, managing quality improvement processes, and implementing initiatives. A visionary and proactive individual adept at assessing organizational readiness for change and setting the pace accordingly.
    • Experience in credentialing, contracting, and developing successful physician compensation models.
    • Comprehensive understanding and experience with scorecard/measurement systems, and a keen interest in continuous learning and quick comprehension of new ideas and concepts.
    • An engaging, servicefocused, and teamoriented leadership style with excellent interpersonal, communication, listening, and facilitation skills. A consensus builder who values input and fairness in all interactions.
    • An open, accessible, calm, and thoughtful personality that values honesty, respect, and transparency. A leader of the highest integrity who empowers others, maintains humility, and appreciates recognizing the contributions of others.
