    Description

    A community Medical facility in Rockland county is seeking a dedicated oral and maxillofacial, skilled and qualified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to join our team and provide comprehensive care to our patients.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform a wide range of surgical procedures in the mouth, jaw, face, and neck, including:
      • Tooth extractions, including impacted teeth
      • Dental implant placement and restoration
      • Jaw surgery for correction of facial deformities or misalignment
      • Reconstructive surgery following facial trauma or injury
      • Treatment of sleep apnea and other oral and maxillofacial pathologies
    • Conduct thorough patient consultations, diagnose oral and maxillofacial conditions, and develop personalized treatment plans.
    • Administer anesthesia (local, sedation, or general) as needed.
    • Prescribe medications to manage pain, infection, and other post-surgical complications.
    • Provide clear pre- and post-operative instructions to patients and ensure proper patient education.
    • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in oral and maxillofacial surgery through continuing education.
    • Collaborate effectively with dentists, orthodontists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
    • May participate in research activities or contribute to the development of new surgical techniques (depending on the practice setting).

    Qualifications:

    • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with advanced training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) residency program accredited by the American Dental Association (ADA) or Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
    • Current Board Certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) or eligibility to obtain certification.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a clinical setting providing oral and maxillofacial surgery services (experience may vary depending on the specific needs of the practice).
    • Excellent surgical skills, with a steady hand and meticulous attention to detail.
    • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
    • Compassionate and empathetic demeanor, with a commitment to providing patient-centered care.
