    Job Description - MERI Quality Inspector


    Business Overview
    The MRO Quality Inspector is a critical role in the store's material management process. This role has responsibility to ensure materials designated in SAP under Quality Management receive the required inspections. It is a key element under PSM-MIQA-QC.
    The MRO Quality Inspector is responsible to perform or ensure execution of designated (under Quality Management) QC inspections as part of insuring mechanical integrity of stores materials.
    Major Objectives of the Role
    1. Inspect MRO materials received for Quality Control inspection to determine if the material(s) meet site requirements or reject for return to vendor.
      1. Identify materials in the quarantine area that need to be returned to the vendor or release materials to unrestricted stock.
    2. Document Enter or have others enter the defect into the nonconformance data base/portal.
    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
    • Understand and apply Site safety policies, procedures.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize work and work with minimal supervision.
    • Knowledge of site procedures and Engineering Standards (Receiving Inspections) to access those needed in performing QC inspection.
    • Use of specialized tools (i.e. material construction, hardness testers, Linear Calipers, Depth Gage, Thread Gage, Durometer Gage, Micrometer, Ohm-meter, Pi-tape, Ruler and XRF),
    • Ability to read reference documents (Drawings, Pictures, Charts, Figures or Tables)
    • Understanding of Chemours Engineering Standards, National Standards (ASME, ASTM, PIP, API, and NEC) as applicable for the inspections.
    • Ability to perform Minimum Essential Receiving Inspection (M.E.R.I.) as determined by site practices and procedures.
    • May require certain levels of certification for inspection as deemed necessary by site.
    Key Responsibilities:
    1. Inventory Management: Receive, store, and distribute products within the warehouse, maintaining accurate inventory records.
    2. Order Picking and Processing: Accurately pick orders for shipment and process them following company guidelines.
    3. Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
    4. Loading and Unloading: Assist in loading and unloading trucks, checking for damaged or missing items.
    5. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
    6. Quality Control: Inspect goods for defects and damages before storing or dispatching, reporting any discrepancies.
    7. Housekeeping: Keep the warehouse area clean and organized to ensure efficient operation and safety.
    8. Instrumentation: Check gauges, hoses, valves, piping, volts, and multiple other items before use to ensure there is no damage.
    Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Previous experience in a warehouse role is preferred.
    • Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods.
    • Experience with warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts) is desirable.
    • Good organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
    • Basic computer skills for managing inventory and processing orders.
    Work Environment: This role operates in a warehouse setting and may involve exposure to various conditions such as dust, noise, and varying temperatures. The position requires frequent physical activity, including moving around the warehouse, lifting, and operating equipment.

    Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to handle manual labor tasks, including lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds, bending, standing for long periods, and working in varying temperature conditions.
