    ABOUT THE COMPANY:

    Client of Kismet Search is an established and highly profitable, privately-held organization headquartered in Phoenix, AZ. With over 20 years in business and a vast subscriber base, they are a vital part of a thriving logistics and transportation sector and are a mission-drive organization that significantly impacts efforts to reduce emissions and use of fossil fuels. Their solutions streamline route navigation across the United States and improve safety standards for small to large commercial fleets with over 800 thousand deployments nationwide.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    Our client is looking to hire an experienced Data Architect with specific expertise in Azure Data Architecture. You will be the keystone in designing and architecting a comprehensive and greenfield Azure data lake from existing, legacy SQL databases. and leading the implementation of secure, scalable, and dependable cloud solutions for their platform. This will effectively be a total data warehouse rewrite, and the Data Architect will lead two additional resources to implement his/her designs.

    The new data architecture will combine many different types of data for groups to run analytics, retrieve customer information, and log real-time events.

    As a vital team player, you will engage in crafting new data strategies, defining data architecture, selecting and implementing business intelligence and data warehouse products, and much more across multiple teams and internal departments.

    Key Duties Include:

    • Solutions Design: Partner with other internal teams to absorb their business goals, technical desires, and boundaries to understand what types of data they use and how they use it. Forge scalable, cost-effective cloud architectures using Microsoft Azure services, and design detailed blueprints and technical guidelines.
    • Azure Architecture Development: Lead creation of new data warehouse and data lake in Azure from legacy SQL databases. The new solutions shoul mirror industry best practices, security protocols, and compliance regulations. Offer sage advice and recommendations to development teams throughout the development cycle.
    • Data Management: Craft standards for data storage, usage, integration, and management company-wide. Engage in all phases of data solution life cycles, from data analysis to the architecting and design of ETL, reporting, and analytics solutions. As an Azure data warehouse expert, guide the organization.
    • Data Accuracy and Accessibility: Implement strategies to guarantee data precision and ease of access, continually monitoring and enhancing data management systems' performance.
    • Technical Leadership: Provide leadership across all project phases, from inception to implementation and delivery, collaborating with DBAs, Developers, and Project Managers.

    Experience Requirements:

    • 8+ years in roles that demonstrate your hands-on expertise with contemporary enterprise data architectures and tools, particularly within the Microsoft Azure Stack.
    • 3+ years of focused Azure Data Architecture experience.
    • Proven success architecting greenfield Azure solutions for large-scale data pipelines, warehouses, and data lakes - required.
    • Current coding skills with Python and Powershell (expect 20-30% coding / architecture design)
    • Proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools, including Power BI, SSIS, and SSRS.
    • Experience with data integration tools like Azure Data Factory, SSIS, and Azure Synapse.
    • Robust experience in architectural design using Azure Data Services, such as Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and no-SQL platforms.
    • Ability to work independently but collaboratively in a hybrid team environment (1 day / week onsite) in the Phoenix, AZ area.
    • Must be currently eligible to work for a US based employer without need for future visa sponsorship.
    • Strong familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.

    COMPENSATION: $125K - $150K base salary, depending on experience
