    Role Overview

    As the Director, Purchasing & Design you will provide leadership and strategic management for Travel & Events Purchasing/Design department including creative program design, sourcing/procurement, negotiating, contracting, and budgeting. Represent One10 at industry relations functions.

    Scope of Work

    • Partner with Client Services teams to identify Strategic focus in support of legacy and new business development efforts and with vendor partners to advance mutual goals
    • Qualify client opportunities and provide strategic recommendations for solutions and experiences that achieve client goals
    • Financial accountability for developing programs that adhere to One10 pricing policies and incorporate standard or client payment terms, contractual terms and conditions and billing guidelines
    • Understand and comply with legal requirements when reviewing contracts/documentation (client and supplier), ensuring client and One10 are appropriately informed and represented
    • Oversee development of deliverables, ensuring timely, accurate, and high-quality output provided to Client Services teams and clients. Utilize project management tools including timelines and budget/proforma templates to execute
    • Report to leaders the presentation activity, won/lost ratios, pending business, hotel and destination sourcing and usage, vendor spend, utilization and performance
    • Partner with managers to ensure that delivery of the work product meets the agreed upon delivery expectations including objectives and financial metrics
    • Contribute to development of an operating plan and budget
    • Serve as industry relations lead, fostering partner relationships, negotiating favorable agreements, and leveraging advantages effectively to benefit client and One10 success
    • Maintain awareness of emerging industry trends, and incorporate innovative themes, concepts, activities and events into program design
    • Attend client presentations as needed, and present One10 travel-related capabilities along with the specific solution recommendations
    • Actively participate in One10 culture development

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience
    • 10 years of experience in business planning within the Travel & Events industry
    • Extensive, successful client relationship skills
    • Proven ability to build strong collaborative relationships across organization
    • Strong business judgment, sound decision making skills, and excellent problem-solving skills
    • Strong business and financial acumen
    • Ability to travel internationally
    • Strong communication skills, and ability to develop client presentations
    • Ability to present capabilities at client meetings/presentations
    • The ideal candidate will be located near a One10 office for team collaboration
