    LOCATION: Frisco, Texas

    HOURS: Full Time, Day Shift, Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm CST

    The Diagnostic Sonographer is responsible for the independent operation of sonography

    equipment to create necessary images and obtain measurements. Individual must

    maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and scanning technique. Communicates

    with the patient and relays any pertinent information to the radiologist and documents on

    tracking sheet/chart. Communicates with the radiologist and understands and performs

    any necessary additional exams.

    The Mammography Technologist operates x-ray equipment and performs a variety of mammography-related diagnostic procedures. Individual must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique.

    Understands, promotes and demonstrates the Solis Way

    Produces high quality ultrasound images and obtain appropriate measurements for

    each exam

    Documents all applicable patient and procedure data consistently and correctly

    Explains procedures adequately to patients to maximize patient comfort and

    cooperation

    Appropriate monitoring during all phases of procedure with special care taken to

    insure patient emotional and physical well-being

    Assist and/or chaperones radiologist when they are performing ultrasound exams

    Assists radiologists during ultrasound biopsy procedures using appropriate sterile

    technique and universal precautions

    Communicates patient information in a professional and courteous manner to

    patients and to referring physicians offices as required.

    Maintains the ultrasound equipment for cleanliness and insures proper equipment

    maintenance and equipment safety

    Maintains a good working relationship with Radiologists and other Center staff

    members

    Consistently practices excellent mammography positioning and exposure technique;

    Ability to effectively communicate to patients the procedures and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health;

    Ability to effectively communicate on an individual and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees;

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes complicated, written or oral instructions;

    Must maintain patient-first focus at all times and exhibit outstanding customer service skills;

    Other duties as assigned

    Skills/Qualifications

    Education: Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program that is

    accredited by the Commission Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program. For

    breast sonography only, educational requirements will be reviewed on a case-by-case

    basis.

    Certificates: Active certification with ARDMS (SPI only are not eligible for hire). ARRT-BS is acceptable for breast sonography only;

    Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program and hold current certification by ARRT in Radiography; ARRT advanced level certification in breast sonography and mammography with documentation of clinical experience, or MQSA qualified and (M) registry eligible;

    Current on all required continuing education and continuing experience as required by MQSA and ARRT;

    High School Diploma; Associates degree preferred;

    Must possess non-restricted licensure in state work location;

    Knowledge of database software, RIS/PACS software is preferred;

    Two years of experience in mammography is preferred;

    Experience with diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound core and stereotactic biopsies is preferred;

    Prior quality control experience preferred;

    Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology;

    Ability to stand for long periods of time;
