    Job Description

    The School of Public Health and Health Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst ) is seeking talented applicants for a full-time, non-tenure track lecturer position (9-month appointment) in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences to teach in and coordinate a new master's program with a focus on disability policy and advocacy. Opportunities exist for summer teaching, which would be compensated for in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. The initial appointment period is two years with the possibility of renewal.

    Essential Functions

    The successful candidate will be responsible for providing in-person and/or online teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, will contribute to the creation of a curriculum for a new Master's of Public Health (MPH) Program with a focus on Disability Policy and Advocacy, and will eventually serve as coordinator of the MPH program. The position will include release from teaching for administrative responsibilities. Providing service to the department, university, community, and profession is also expected, including participation on committees, projects, and other activities that support the university, college, and departmental mission.

    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

    Candidates must hold a PhD in Public Health; Policy; Disability Studies; Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences; or a related field from an accredited university or college.
    Demonstrated record of teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level is preferred.

    Exercises considerable initiative, leadership, judgment, responsibility and decision-making.
