The Test Engineer is a key contributor in a multi-disciplinary team working on designing, implementing, and delivering our systems and solutions.
Key Role & Responsibilities:
Design, development, and support of Engineering and Production Test Fixtures
Develop and execute product test plans and prepare test reports
Component lifecycle support. This includes assisting design engineering with identifying and testing alternative electronic components as current components become obsolete or hard to find
Assist manufacturing engineering team to assure that documentation and training needed for new product production release is complete
Assist the operations team with support tasks such as RMAs, RCFAs, and administration
Support compliance and certification testing via 3rd party test facilities
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, including technical school and professional experience.
Two (2)+ years of experience in related job function
Team player willing to take on assignments that are not always within core competency
Skilled at using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and processor emulators/debuggers
Familiar with product certification activities (e.g., CE, UL, TUV, etc.)
Familiar with testing and troubleshooting electronics to the component level
Familiar with releasing electronics-based products from design engineering to production
Familiar with test set up development and implementation including documentation of the setup, overseeing the implementation of custom set up pieces, verifying the operation of the set up, and helping with the installation of the setup in production.
Experience interfacing with both internal and contract manufacturersExcellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical problem-solving skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products, such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, and PowerPoint
Desired Qualifications:
Five (5)+ years of experience in related job function
Experience releasing low to medium volume industrial electronic products from engineering to production
Industrial automation product experience. Rockwell Automation experience is a plus
Familiar with industrial automation protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, etc.
Travel:
Travel, as appropriate and necessary, to support projects and product development efforts (average 2 to 3 weeks per year)
