- Knowledgeable in USDA, NLSP, and SBP rules and regulations
- Knowledgeable of meal accountability systems for Federal, State, and local regulations regards the After-School Child Nutrition Service Program
- Efficient in food production, transporting, and servicing techniques
- Knowledgeable in principles and procedures of food handling and storage
- Experience in operating all types of foodservice equipment
- Complete routine addition, subtraction multiplication, division and percentages, and fraction computation with ease and accuracy
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate effective leadership
- Efficient in organizing the workflow of the site
- Supervise, select and train personnel in food production and service
- Maintain correct meal portion control
- Get along well with the children at the site and maintain cooperative relationships with fellow employees
- Oversee and follow standardized portion sizes according to USDA requirements
- Responsible for evaluating meals at the point of service or recording meals on a meal counting form
- Maintains accurate records of menu production sheets, inventories upon request
- Forecasts and communicates food and supply needs
- Attends management/supervisory meetings
- Based on personal observation, submits input to the administrator regarding food service staff job performance
- Fulfills other related duties assigned by the Director of the Tuskegee University Child Nutrition Program
- Working hours are aligned with the Macon County School System.
- This program begins in October through May.
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- Equivalent to completion of the twelfth-grade education
- Must be familiar with health and safety standards, as well as meal requirements of USDA and the State of Alabama Department of Education Child Nutrition Program
- Recommended: Current First Aid Card
- Must be familiar with basic word processing
- Ability to use the internet to access electronic forms
