Job Description:

My client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills, including experience in accounts receivable, journal entries, inventory reconciliations, and bank reconciliations. A Bachelors degree in Accounting is preferred, or a minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.

Responsibilities for the Staff Accountant:

Accounts Receivable (AR) Management:
- Generate customer invoices and statements accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on past due accounts.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Journal Entries:
- Prepare and post journal entries to accurately reflect business transactions.
- Maintain supporting documentation for journal entries and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Inventory Reconciliations:
- Perform monthly reconciliations of inventory accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical inventory counts and book balances.
Bank Reconciliation:
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of cash balances.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between bank statements and general ledger accounts.
General Accounting Support:
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide accounting support and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Requirements for Staff Accountant:

Bachelors degree in Accounting preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Sage and SAP skills are a plus).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

This is a fully onsite role in Saint Johns, MI.
